Economic development has been another major priority of mine since being elected to the Elk Grove City Council.  I have been a champion of a proactive attitude toward attracting and retaining businesses.

Those efforts have paid off with the California Correctional Health Care Services relocating its headquarters to Elk Grove, bringing 1,500 new jobs to our city.

As an ongoing effort to fuel the local economy, the city of Elk Grove sponsored Think SHOP Live Elk Grove as well as the very successful Shop & Dine Elk Grove program which I co-proposed as part of a holiday stimulus package.

With the city hiring a new economic development director and with the reorganization of the Elk Grove Economic Development Corporation, the city of Elk Grove, the private and not-for-profit sectors, and our community can now work together as a whole to improve our local economy.

I will continue to work steadfast within our community to continually improve our city’s investment climate and businesses, enabling an environment to enhance our competitiveness, retain jobs, create new ones by attracting large corporations and improve incomes.
